Joseph claims their professional ties began post a December 2024 performance and turned personal, with Smith allegedly citing a “special connection.”

In March 2025 in Las Vegas, Joseph discovered unauthorized hotel room entry evidence: a note “Brian, I’ll be back…just us” signed “Stone F,” wipes, beer bottle, HIV medication in another’s name, and hospital papers, leaving him distressed; he reported to security and police.

Instead of support, tour management accused him of lying, fired him claiming a “direction change,” and hired a replacement violinist.

The December 30, 2025, Los Angeles Superior Court filing against Smith and Treyball Studios seeks damages for grooming, emotional distress, lost income, and reputational harm.

Smith’s representatives have not commented publicly.
