Novak Djokovic Joins Le Mans FC Ownership Team

Tennis icon Novak Djokovic has officially become a co-owner of French football club Le Mans FC, recently promoted to Ligue 2. The announcement was made on Friday, with the club revealing that Djokovic is part of a high-profile investment group that includes former Formula 1 drivers Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen.

The investment is led by OutField, an international consortium co-founded by Pedro Oliveira and backed by Georgios Frangulis, CEO of health-food brand OakBerry.

Le Mans FC praised Djokovic’s competitive spirit and mental resilience, saying his involvement will bring “considerable added value” to the club’s culture and vision.

Massa and Magnussen, with 15 and 10 seasons in F1 respectively, are expected to help bridge football and motorsport—an identity Le Mans FC is keen to cultivate. The club kicks off its Ligue 2 campaign on August 9 with an away match against Guingamp.

This move marks Djokovic’s latest venture beyond tennis, expanding his footprint in global sports and business. Want to explore other athletes making bold business moves? I’ve got a list that might surprise you.
