APC Urges Nigerians Not to Judge Buhari on Artificial Insecurity

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says Nigerians cannot judge the government led by President Muhammadu Buhari on the country’s current security situation because it is artificial.

Senator John Akpanudoedehe, national secretary of the APC and the Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), said this Thursday in Abuja.

He spoke at an event organized by the APC Professional Forum for government appointees to report on their management in power to Nigerians at the party’s national secretariat.

“President Buhari will be judged on security and other achievements, but the security issue will not be an artificial security situation in Nigeria.

“Those who try to overthrow President Buhari through the back door will not succeed,” Akpanudoedehe said.

He added that those promoting the country’s security situation would soon be indicted.

He advised Nigerians and the media not to pay attention to those who blackmail the government and its appointees on social media.

“For example, many educated young people are misled into believing that SARS is an evil organization within the police force through social media.

“And today we have pockets of insecurity everywhere because the effects of SARS really weakened police morale,” he said.

The APC scribe noted that while there were some bad eggs in the police, it should be understood that the police have a disciplinary system in place.

Akpanudoedehe stressed the need for the police to reorganize, redefine their strategy and re-energize themselves to defend Nigerians, regardless of what might have happened in the past.

“I want to use this medium to passionately plead with the new Inspector General of Police to regain the spirit of an effective police force,” he said.
