    NARTO Suspends Planned Nationwide Strike

Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO, has suspended its planned nationwide strike.

The suspension comes after a meeting with the Federal Government and stakeholders on Monday, Feb. 19.

NARTO had issued a strike notice over economic conditions affecting tanker drivers.

The association’s members had threatened a countrywide shutdown starting on Monday due to the exorbitant cost of automotive gas oil (diesel), which is essential for fueling their trucks in transporting petroleum products across Nigeria.

The price of diesel hit N1,226.69 per litre last week.
