    Court Remands Man for Sexually Molesting Toddler in Ondo

    An Akure Magistrate Court has remanded 23-year-old man, Dominic David in police custody for allegedly inserting his finger inside the private part of a five-year girl.

    David reportedly committed the act on January 24, 2023 at Basic Road, Odode Street, Idanre community.

    He was said to have lured the little girl into his apartment with biscuits and molested her.

    It was the victim that told her mother how David allegedly removed her pants and inserted his finger inside her viginal.

    David was arraigned on a one count of indecent sexual assault.

    Police prosecutor, Matins Olowofeso, told the court that the defendant was arrested last year for the same offence.

    “Last year, David did same thing to the victim?s elder sister who was ten years old then. He signed an undertaking not to do such again upon his release,” Olowofeso said.

    Olowofeso said the offence contravened Section 4 (1) and (2) of the VAPPLAW of Ondo State 2021.

    The plea of the defendant was not taken.

    Presiding Magistrate, Folashade Aduroja, ordered the remand of the accused at the police custody

    Aduroja adjourned the case to February 9, for mentioning.
