Singer Jaywon Calls Out D’banj Over Song Theft

Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, the Nigerian singer fondly called Jaywon, has called out D’banj, his colleague, over the allegation of song theft.

D’banj had put out a song titled ‘Face Show’ on Friday.

In the track, the singer enlisted the help of Skibii and Holly Hood Bay Bay.

But a few hours after the Koko Master had released his song, Jaywon took to his Instagram stories to insinuate D’banj allegedly stole a song belonging to a budding artiste under his management.

“After calling to ask my artist to drop his song and he refused your offer, then you went ahead to release the song,” he wrote.

“Abah! Dbanj and management. You can do better.”

It remains to be seen if ‘Face Show’ is the alleged stolen song.

D’banj is also yet to react to the allegation as of the time of this report.

Jaywon is a songwriter, actor and producer. In 2009, he signed a record deal with Kennis Music.

Under the music label, he released ‘Odun Yi (This Year)’, the hit single, which brought him into the limelight.

The song fetched him several awards including ‘Best New Artist’ gong at the Nigerian Music Video Awards in 2009.

He also received ‘Best Recording’ award at the 2013 Headies and the Tush Awards.

Jaywon released two studio albums titled ‘Meet Jaywon’ and ‘Meet Jaywon Reloaded’ with Kennis Music before exiting the music label in 2013.
