Fear As Gas Leakage Rents Air in Ikeja

The residents and businesses around Ikeja area of Lagos State this morning (Wednesday), has been thrown into panic as gas leakage took over the air.

Residence are therefore been urged to be cautious of their activities in order to avoid fire outbreak.

The cause of the leakage is yet to be accertained but the areas affected include: Computer Village /Underbridge Awolowo Way and Oba Akran axis, Anifowose Street, Medical Road and the environs.

The development was confirmed by Acting Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos office, Ibrahim Farinloye.

According to Farinloye, “Residents around Computer Village /Underbridge Awolowo Way and Oba Akran axis, Anifowose Street, Medical Road must not open shops or use open naked fire for safety reasons.

“Distressed alert just received indicates massive leakage of gas pipeline around these areas.

“Let us take utmost safety precautions,” he stated.
