Clubhouse Introduces Pinned Links to Help Creators Drive More Audience Engagement, Promote their Work

Clubhouse, the social audio app, is introducing a new feature for creators to monetise and share content relevant to the room with listeners called Pinned Links.

The new feature offers the ability for creators to share more context for the discussions, help drive audience engagement, and promote their work (articles, books, music). It is a continuation of Clubhouse’s creator-first focus approach and speed to market with new features to enhance the experience for both creators and users.

The feature was developed in response to requests from the creator community for additional ways to share more context and monetise their content.

Pinned Links allow creators to pin a link to the top of their room. Room moderators can tap the three dots menu in the upper right, then tap “Pin a Link.” They can enter the link they’d like to pin and then click “Add Link”.

A message at the top of the page will appear letting moderators know that the link was pinned to the stage. Any moderator can change or remove the link anytime.

Pinned links will appear right at the top of the stage under the room title. Link details like the title of the page and any featured images will appear if they’re available.

For creators, the benefit of Pinned Links is that it allows them to pin important links to the top of a room to give listeners context or to promote their latest work (i.e., book, article, song, etc).

For users, the feature gives more context about the room without having to go to a creator’s bio for additional information. This reduces the number of clicks users need to take if they’re interested in exploring more from the creator.

People will be able to use Pinned Links in all sorts of fun ways — like playing games, running polls, and sharing links to YouTube videos. Just as importantly, Pinned Links will be to help room creators drive people to subscribe to their Substack, download their podcasts, read their books, discover their new single, buy their product, and support their Patreon page.

Pinned links will go live on Wednesday, October 27 on both iOS and Android — joining a host of new creator-first features announced these past few weeks to help creators:
