    Tunde Onakoya, Founder of Chess in Slums Africa to speak at NECLive9

    Tunde Onakoya, the founder of Chess in Slums Africa will speak at the biggest and longest-running entertainment conference in West Africa, Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive).

    The conference which is in its ninth edition will return as a hybrid event on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Landmark Event Centre.

    Onakoya has been using the Chess in Slums initiative to provide help to children living in slums. In 2021, Neusroom did a special report released in a series detailing the stories of some of the children and adults living under the bridges in Oshodi who have benefitted from the initiative.

    The conference will explore how African creatives and entertainers can use digital media and technology tools to build sustainable economic power for themselves, the industry, and their nations, opportunities via communities of Africans in the diaspora and social impact and development through entertainment.

    Other confirmed speakers for the event include Anyiko Owoko from Kenya, Aline Gahongayire, Rwandan gospel music star, Dr. Busola Tejumola, the Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, TV host and filmmaker, Bolanle Olukanni, Sam Onyemelukwe, media executive, Broadcaster Mozez Praiz and more.

    NECLive9 is organised by ID Africa in partnership with AV Edge, MTV Base, African Movie Channel, 7Even Interactive Limited, MultiChoice, Trace TV, X3M Ideas, Legit.ng, Mirus Events, Trace TVHuce Valeris, The GreenRoom Nigeria, Landmark Centre, Plaqad and BHM.
