YouTube has announced changes to its monetization policy, effective July 15, 2025, targeting mass-produced and repetitive content lacking originality or human input.
According to the company, the new rules aim to promote authentic creation and raise overall content quality. Videos created in bulk with synthetic voices or those that reuse formats and scripts without offering distinct value will no longer qualify for monetization under the YouTube Partner Program.
Content that reuses third-party material without transformation, relies solely on auto-generated voices or subtitles, or includes superficial editing will also be excluded. Channels persisting with such practices may face removal from the program.
YouTube clarified that artificial intelligence is not banned but must be used with meaningful human contribution. Original tutorials, creative entertainment, and personal narration will continue to qualify for monetization.
The platform says the move is part of efforts to protect genuine creators and ensure viewers receive valuable, engaging content.
