Woman Withdraws Rape Allegation Against Nigerian Footballer Victor Ebele Jr., Says ‘He Never Raped Me’

A woman identified as Chiomie has withdrawn a rape allegation she previously made against Nigerian footballer Victor Ebele Jr., saying that the footballer never raped her.

Chiomie made the clarification in a video shared on social media, where she expressed regret over the allegation and apologised to Ebele, his brother, Frank Chiboy Ebele, and other members of the family.

She said the allegation was made in August 2025 when she was highly emotional, adding that her state of mind at the time influenced her actions.

“I made a post against Victor Ebele Jr. that he raped me. He never raped me, guys,” she said in the video.

Chiomie also acknowledged that she defamed members of the Ebele family through statements she made during the controversy.

She urged members of the public not to continue associating Ebele with the allegation, insisting that he was not a rapist.

“I’m really sorry and I regret all my actions. And I hope that you guys don’t take it up against him because Victor is not a rapist,” she said.

She also appealed to blogs and social media platforms that published or reposted her earlier allegation to remove the reports.

Chiomie specifically called on Instablog9ja to take down posts relating to the allegation, claiming that the platform had reposted her original post on its Instagram and X pages.

“Take the post they made down because Victor never raped me,” she appealed.

She said the allegation had affected Ebele and members of his family in their workplaces and personal relationships.

According to her, she regretted the manner in which she handled the matter and admitted that she had taken the law into her own hands rather than following what she described as the appropriate channels.

“This is also me making a public apology to everyone in the family. I’m really sorry. I took laws into my hands. What I did was wrong and I didn’t take the right precautions to get what I wanted,” she said.

The public retraction marks a new development in the controversy that began with the rape allegation in August 2025.
