Who Sent Live Ammunition to a First Bank Director? Lagos Police Investigate Mystery Parcel

Who sent a parcel containing live ammunition to a director at First Bank? This is the nut the Lagos Police Command is trying to crack.

The suspicious parcel was said to have been delivered to the home of the First bank director in Lagos.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Tijani, disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing journalists at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.

He said that detectives were working to identify and apprehend those responsible for sending the package.

According to the commissioner, the incident occurred on May 7, when the director received a parcel delivered to his residence by a dispatch rider.

Tijani said the unnamed director became alarmed after opening the package and discovering two rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition concealed inside.

He explained that the discovery immediately raised suspicion, prompting the police to begin an investigation into the source of the ammunition and the motive behind its delivery.

“The director reported that a parcel was delivered to him by a dispatch rider. When he opened it, he discovered two rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition, which naturally raised suspicion and necessitated a police investigation,” the commissioner said.

Tijani described the case as serious and said investigators were exploring all available leads to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The police boss noted that no suspect had been arrested in connection with the case.

“Presently, no suspect is in custody. Although the director mentioned some persons he suspects may have been behind it, those remain his suspicions and we are still working on all available leads,” he added.

The commissioner assured residents that the command was committed to conducting a thorough investigation and bringing anyone found culpable to justice.

He said efforts were ongoing to determine the origin of the parcel, identify those responsible for sending it and establish the intention behind the act.(NAN)
