Zohran Mamdani, mayor of New York, has confirmed that President Donald Trump has agreed to grant a visa to the Ghanaian mother of a 15-year-old teenager who was murdered last Thursday when he was heading to his school, RaveNewsOnline reports.
“The murder of a child is a pain that no parent should have to endure, and much less from thousands of miles away,” Mamdani declared in a statement on his social media.
“Javits Frimpong’s mother deserves to say goodbye to her son in person. I just spoke by phone with President Trump and he has agreed to grant her a visa immediately,” the Democratic mayor has assured.
The young man, identified as Javits Frimpong, 15, had moved from Ghana to New York last year to reunite with his father. He was shot in the abdomen while walking to school and was evacuated to Santa Barnabas Hospital, where he later died, according to authorities.
For now, no arrests have been made and, according to the initial investigations, the Police are looking for three teenagers who were recorded by security cameras fleeing the scene of the crime.
His father, Thomas Frimpong, remembered his son as a quiet boy and said he was bullied in school by two boys.
