The United States has delivered military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to combat terrorism and other security threats in the region.
The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) announced the delivery in a post on X on Thursday.
According to AFRICOM, the equipment was transported by a US Air Force C-17 aircraft over the weekend under a Foreign Military Sales agreement between the United States and Nigeria.
The command said the delivery would further strengthen the security partnership between both countries and support Nigeria’s ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
AFRICOM also reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to working with Nigeria to enhance its defence capabilities and address security challenges across the region.
