Trump Dismisses Iran Conflict as ‘Small Potatoes’ for US

    Trump

US President Donald Trump on Friday downplayed the ongoing conflict with Iran, describing it as “small potatoes” for the United States.

Trump’s comments came a day after Vice President JD Vance said he would not describe the confrontation with Iran as a war.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said some people did not consider the situation a war but preferred to describe it as a military conflict.

“A lot of people don’t call it a war. I call it a military conflict because it’s small potatoes for us. It’s not a big thing. We did Venezuela, and we did this,” Trump said.

The president’s remarks appeared aimed at portraying the US involvement in the conflict as limited compared with other military operations undertaken by his administration.

His comments come amid continued attention over the nature and scope of US military involvement in the confrontation with Iran, as officials seek to characterise the situation and its implications.
