Transfer deadline day produced a flurry of major moves across Europe, with several of the continent’s leading clubs completing late business before the summer window closed.
Manchester City, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Barcelona, Juventus and other big-name clubs were among those to make significant additions, with a number of high-profile players changing clubs.
Here are 10 of the biggest deals completed on deadline day, according to confirmed reports.
1. Matias Fernandez-Pardo — Lille to Newcastle United, £51m reported
Newcastle United completed the signing of Belgium forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille on a long-term contract.
The 21-year-old, who can play on either wing or through the middle, becomes Newcastle’s eighth first-team signing of the summer.
While Newcastle did not reveal the transfer fee, British media reports have valued the deal at around £51 million.
2. Ibrahim Mbaye — Paris Saint-Germain to Aston Villa, £47m reported
Aston Villa completed the permanent signing of Senegal forward Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain for a reported £47 million.
The 18-year-old spent eight years at PSG after joining the club’s academy at the age of 10. He went on to become the French champions’ youngest-ever Ligue 1 starter in 2024.
Mbaye has also established himself on the international stage with Senegal, scoring against France at the 2026 World Cup.
3. Taylor Harwood-Bellis — Southampton to Aston Villa, £25m rising to £30m
Aston Villa strengthened their defence with the signing of England international Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Southampton.
The 24-year-old joins for an initial £25 million, with the fee potentially rising to £30 million through add-ons.
Harwood-Bellis is expected to help fill the defensive void created by Ezri Konsa’s departure to Arsenal.
4. Gabriel Jesus — Arsenal to Barcelona, £8.6m reported
Barcelona completed the permanent signing of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal on a three-year contract.
Arsenal confirmed the 29-year-old’s departure, while Barcelona announced that Jesus has signed a deal running until June 2029.
The transfer fee is reportedly around £8.6 million, although neither club disclosed the financial details.
Jesus leaves Arsenal after four years in north London, having made 123 appearances and scored 32 goals for the club.
5. Nick Woltemade — Newcastle United to Juventus, loan
Juventus completed the signing of German forward Nick Woltemade from Newcastle United on loan until June 2027.
Woltemade joined Newcastle last summer for a reported £69 million but has now moved to Turin after just one season in England.
The striker made 53 appearances across all competitions for Newcastle, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists.
6. Pape Matar Sarr — Tottenham to Juventus, loan
Juventus also added Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr on deadline day.
The 23-year-old Senegal international arrives on loan after making more than 100 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions. He was also part of the Spurs squad that won the Europa League in the 2024/25 season.
Juventus officially confirmed the move on Tuesday.
7. Marc Guiu — Chelsea to RB Leipzig, £14.6m reported
RB Leipzig completed the signing of Spanish striker Marc Guiu from Chelsea in a deal worth £14.6 million, including add-ons.
The 20-year-old has signed a contract with the Bundesliga club until 2031 and will wear the No. 9 shirt.
Guiu joined Chelsea from boyhood club Barcelona in July 2024 and made 29 first-team appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge.
He recorded 10 goal involvements, with six of his goals coming during Chelsea’s successful Conference League campaign in 2024/25.
Guiu also spent part of last season on loan at Sunderland, although his spell was cut short after just three appearances when he was recalled 25 days after joining.
8. Ethan Nwaneri — Arsenal to Borussia Dortmund, loan
Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the 2026/27 season.
The England Under-21 international spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille, making 11 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 club.
Nwaneri has represented England at every youth level from Under-16 to Under-21 and has made 58 appearances for the Young Lions, scoring 27 goals.
The move remains subject to the completion of the necessary regulatory processes.
9. Iliman Ndiaye — Everton to Manchester City, £60m rising to £65m
Manchester City completed one of deadline day’s biggest deals by signing Senegal winger Iliman Ndiaye from Everton.
The transfer is worth an initial £60 million, with a further £5 million available in add-ons, taking the potential total to £65 million.
The 26-year-old has agreed a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
“I’ve worked my whole life for an opportunity like this,” Ndiaye said after completing the move.
He made 74 appearances for Everton after joining the club from Marseille in 2024, scoring 21 goals.
10. Kevin Danso — Tottenham to Sunderland, loan
Sunderland completed the signing of Austria defender Kevin Danso from Tottenham on loan until the end of the season.
The deal is reported to cost Sunderland £2.5 million, with an obligation for the transfer to become permanent next summer for £22.5 million if the club remains in the Premier League.
Danso, 27, made 52 appearances for Tottenham after joining from RC Lens in January 2025.
His arrival is expected to strengthen Sunderland’s defence as the club prepares for its first European campaign since 1973.
Danso’s departure comes as Tottenham close in on a move for Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo.
Deadline Day Delivers Plenty of Drama
With clubs racing against the clock to strengthen their squads, deadline day once again produced several headline-making transfers.
Manchester City’s move for Ndiaye and Newcastle’s sale of Woltemade to Juventus were among the biggest deals, while Aston Villa emerged as one of the busiest clubs with the additions of Mbaye and Harwood-Bellis.
Meanwhile, Barcelona, Juventus, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland also completed significant late moves as clubs across Europe finalised their squads for the new season.
