    Tourism and Technology Summit Africa Returns in Hybrid Edition with Focus On Designing Africa’s Tourism Playbook

    In furtherance of the initiative to drive the digital transformation of the Tourism and Hospitality industry in Africa, Travel Technology Company, My Beautiful Africa, in partnership with Technology Mirror, a news technology company and winner of the Best Startup Online Supportive Media, 2022 are set to host the Tourism and Technology Summit Africa 2022, with the theme: Designing Africa’s Tourism Playbook: A Hybrid of Culture and Technology.

    The Summit, which is billed to hold on 27th October 2022 at the Oriental Hotel Lagos from 10am -4pm is expected to host an array of speakers who would be speaking on various topics addressing how technology is driving processes in various sectors like Security, Aviation, Hospitality, Tourism, Travel and Health.

    Announcing the event in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, Clara Chinwe Okoro Founder and Chief Operation Officer at My Beautiful Africa, said that the Summit will focus on the role Smart Tourism plays in achieving digital transformation of the new playbook of African Tourism, as well as the role technology will play in preserving culture and how it will drive processes in the new post COVID-19 economy.

    She disclosed that the vast arrays of speakers would be focusing on the emergence of new economies defined by shifting variables such as AI, Biometrics, Blockchain Technologies, Cryptocurrency, NFT’s, the Metaverse and contactless technology and diversity in technology.

    She said that Chief Technical Officer of Digital Encode Limited, Dr Oluseyi Akindeinde, will be speaking on the how Blockchain Technology is transforming the Travel industry while the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters Onikan Lagos, Mr Adeleke Adeyinka will speak “Adopting Technology to Enhance Security and Boost Tourism”.

    She noted that the Summit will create a platform for value reorientation for a new ecosystem for Tourism in Africa adding that it is geared towards changing the narrative for better accountability in the industry and convergence to promote the reordering of real SDG Agenda for Africa in travel and tourism using technology and scientific capabilities.

    In addition, the Co-Producer for the event, Mr Adeyomi Adelokiki would be unveiling the CSR project under the aegis of the YGC Foundation with a focus on how health tech can solve the problems of people with sickle cell anemia.

    The event will also feature the presentation of award to three key personalities who have consistently deployed technologies to solve problems in the society from their position of Leadership.
