Tinubu will use AI to combat insecurity – Jimoh Ibrahim – Ravenewsonline

Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu plans to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to address Nigeria’s security challenges.

Ibrahim made this statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today program.

Highlighting the president’s commitment to security, the senator noted that Tinubu has allocated N5 trillion for security, emphasizing the deployment of technology in combating insurgency and banditry.

“Give it to President Tinubu, whether you like him or not, I am not his spokesman, the security index has improved,” Ibrahim said.

He added, “Before I came on, I checked the security index of Nigeria from the global system. No city or LG is flying Boko Haram flag as of today.

“I am a security man, and he is going to spend more – he wants to bring in technology to solve the problem of security as opposed to using manpower, and that engagement would cost him money.”

Ibrahim hinted at plans for technological innovation, including an AI-driven application for security personnel.

“He is likely to develop an app that police and army would use – 2025 will be the worst year for criminals.

“He will use AI, distil it to security personnel to make your life comfortable,” he stated.

The senator expressed optimism about the economic benefits of improved security. “If he is able to do that with N5 trillion, what is the distilment going to lead to?” he asked rhetorically.

He further asserted that Nigerians should expect increased revenue as the country’s security situation stabilizes.
