Governor Charles Soludo has launched the transformation of Anambra State’s old Government House into the Solution Innovation District (SID), a tech ecosystem aimed at driving innovation and economic growth. Work is underway on the 12-13 hectare site, previously the state’s administrative center before relocation to the new “Light House” in June 2025.
Tech-Driven Governance Shift
The SID will unite innovators, technologists, startups, government agencies, investors, and artisans to tackle local and global challenges, positioning Anambra as a regional innovation leader. During a Sunday inspection, Soludo likened the project to Silicon Valley, aligning it with his “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere” mantra. He emphasized hands-on oversight for quality and speed in the first construction phase, targeting completion of initial structures soon.
Rapid Development Timeline
Contractors are accelerating work to shift from temporary setups to a permanent hub for Anambra’s expanding developer community. Soludo scheduled a follow-up visit later this month to track milestones, underscoring urgency in embedding digital solutions across governance and the economy. This bold repurposing signals Anambra’s pivot toward a knowledge-based future.
