Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its readiness to commence enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Tinted Glass law on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, despite public concerns over an alleged court injunction.

Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, made the clarification on Monday via his official X handle, stating that no court has issued an order restraining the police from enforcing the law.

Hundeyin’s statement comes in response to claims circulating over the weekend that a lawsuit filed by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) had barred the police from implementing the law. Critics argued that the matter, still pending in court, rendered any enforcement premature.

“There is no court order stopping the enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Tinted Glass law,” Hundeyin said. “The Nigeria Police Force will proceed with enforcement as scheduled.”

He urged motorists to ensure compliance with the law and obtain the necessary permits to avoid sanctions.

The Motor Vehicle Tinted Glass law requires vehicle owners with tinted windows to secure a permit from the police, a measure aimed at enhancing national security and curbing criminal activities.

Ravenewsonline reports that the NBA had earlier challenged the legality of the permit requirement, citing concerns over civil liberties and due process.
