    Police arrest suspected k!llers of broadcast journalist in Abuja

    The FCT Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the m8rder of a journalist in Atar Communication, owners of Liberty Radio FM , Mr. Azubuko Nwakama Joel.

    The On-Air Personality, popularly known as Joel Waksi, was k!lled during a robbery attempt in 2024.

    Joel was found d3ad on Wednesday, June 19, five days after he was declared missing.

    Sources told security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 that the arrests followed a meticulously coordinated intelligence-driven operation by detectives from Mpape Division.

    The suspects, identified as Murtari Lawal, Dan Asebe Ibrahim, and Ibrahim Danjuma, all residents of Pantaka, Mpape, were arrested over their involvement in the armed robbery and culpable homicide incident that occurred on June 14, 2024.

    The sources said the deceased was attacked and k!lled while the suspects attempted to rob him of his phone and other personal belongings.

    An Android phone belonging to the deceased was recovered from the suspects.

    The sources added that Investigation is ongoing.
