Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has suspended all overnight vigils and directed that church activities nationwide must end by 8 p.m. due to growing security concerns across the country.

The directive was conveyed in a circular dated June 5, 2026, and addressed to regional overseers and branch pastors of the ministry.

According to the circular, all services, meetings and programmes at every level of the church are to conclude by 8 p.m. until further notice.

The ministry also announced the indefinite suspension of overnight vigils and late-night prayer programmes.

Under the new arrangement, any prayer gathering considered necessary must be conducted as an evening programme and concluded on or before the stipulated time.

The circular was signed by Temitope A. Olawale, Director of Administration for MFM International Headquarters and Nigeria.

Olawale said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure in response to the prevailing security situation in the country.

“The directives are purely precautionary and aimed at safeguarding the lives and well-being of our members in the face of the current security situation in the country,” the statement said.

The ministry urged all regional and branch leaders to ensure strict compliance with the directive, which takes immediate effect.

The development comes amid increasing concerns over security challenges in parts of the country, prompting organisations and institutions to adopt additional safety measures for members and staff.
