National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared four persons wanted over their alleged involvement in the operation of a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory, production of illicit drugs and money laundering.
The NDLEA spokesperson, Mr Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
He identified the suspects as Nnamuka Kelvin Uchenna, also known as “Odogwu”; Emmanuella Chinonso Iroka; Nnamuka Ifeanyi Kingsley; and Ekechi Franklin Chijioke, also known as “Ekene Okwunaga.”
Babafemi said the suspects were declared wanted following an order granted by Justice Iniekenimi Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court, Owerri, Imo State.
According to him, the order followed an application filed by the NDLEA in suit number FHC/OW/CS/22/2026 on July 3, 2026.
He said the development stemmed from the discovery of a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory at Isiozi, Umuaka, in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo on Feb. 25, 2026.
Babafemi said NDLEA operatives recovered 18.4 kilograms of methamphetamine and other materials during the operation.
He added that investigations later linked the four wanted suspects to the illegal laboratory, after which they allegedly went into hiding.
According to him, forensic investigations also led to the freezing of bank accounts linked to the suspects with a combined balance of N9.84 billion.
The agency also secured interim forfeiture orders over assets allegedly connected to the syndicate.
The assets include a filling station, multi-storey residential buildings and four Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs).
Reacting to the development, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, retired Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, commended officers involved in the investigation.
Marwa described the operation as evidence of the agency’s resolve to dismantle drug trafficking networks and disrupt the financial systems supporting illicit drug activities.
He said the agency would continue to deploy financial intelligence and forensic investigations to trace fugitives, freeze illicit funds and recover assets linked to drug trafficking.
Marwa also appealed to members of the public to provide credible information on the whereabouts of the wanted suspects to the nearest NDLEA office or through the agency’s confidential communication channels.
He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and protecting communities from its social and economic consequences.
