    NCS Congratulates Pantami on Nigeria’s Victories @ WATRA

    Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has congratulated Dr. Isa Ibrahim Pantami, minister of Communications and Digital Economy, on the emergence of Nigeria to occupy the position of the chairman and chief executive secretary of the West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly.

    In a letter to the minister and signed by Prof. Adesina Sodiya, president, NCS, commended Pantami for the many achievements recorded by the telecoms sector, in his tenure

    Part of the letter read: “On behalf of NCS President, Professor Adesina Sodiya, the National Executive Council and the entire membership of Nigeria Computer Society, we are felicitating with our hardworking and committed Minister of Communications, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, on Nigeria emerging the Chairman of West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly (WATRA) and won the position of its Executive Secretary. This is a laudable achievement for Nigeria and worthy of commendation. It calls for celebration from all IT stakeholders.”

    Aliyu Aboki, a staff of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), emerged the winner of a keenly contested election between six countries.

    Aboki’s nomination and endorsement by Pantami was strictly based on merit, considering his proven expertise and skills in the sector.

    During the formal presentation, Pantami charged Aboki to be fair in his dealings and committed to the assignment and to work hard at being the best Executive Secretary to have occupied the office.
