MTN Extends Deadline for Spelling Bee Competition to October 24

MTN Nigeria has extended the registration deadline for the 2021 mPulse Spelling Bee to October 24, 2021, to enable more young Nigerians to benefit from the competition on the mPulse website.

Explaining the decision to extend the registration deadline, the Acting General Manager, Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria, Idowu Adesokan, stated, “We took the mPulse Spelling Bee competition online to advance digital literacy and guarantee safe participation from students across Nigeria regardless of their location. We believe that every child qualified to participate should have the opportunity to and our extension of the deadline accommodates and encourages this.”

The competition consists of three rounds. The first round is currently being run alongside the ongoing registration. The first 1,000 students who get the highest scores in this round will proceed to the second round.

This year’s competition affords participants, teachers and the winner’s school a chance to share in over N7 million worth in cash prizes, laptops, phones and mPulse goody bags. Adesokan, however, expressed confidence that the benefits of participating are not limited to the prizes to be won. He noted that it includes the experience of healthy competition with their peers.

According to him, “Students have the opportunity to compete in this online competition from anywhere in Nigeria, with a chance to win cash prizes, laptops, smartphones and many more gifts for themselves; while their teachers who supported them in preparing get rewarded with cash prizes and devices too.”

Primary and secondary students between 9-15 years old across Nigeria can still participate in the mPulse Spelling Bee competition on www.mtnonline.com/mpulse, provided they are on the mPulse plan. Students who wish to migrate to the mPulse plan should text ‘mPulse’ to 344 or dial *344*1# on their MTN line.
