Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2030, the reigning European champions announced on Friday.
The 56-year-old Spaniard’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the current season, but the new agreement extends his tenure as PSG continue to build on their recent dominance in European football.
The announcement was made ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 clash with Monaco at the Parc des Princes. Five players — Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz, Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo and Senny Mayulu — also signed contract extensions.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi described the players as central to the club’s long-term plans.
“They represent the present and the future of our club’s project,” Al-Khelaifi said.
“Together, we’re aiming to build for the long term, to remain true to our values, and to continue writing a story that our supporters can be proud of.”
Luis Enrique and the five Champions League winners received a loud reception from the home supporters when the extensions were announced.
However, PSG suffered a 2-1 defeat to Monaco, leaving them without a victory in their first three Ligue 1 matches of the new season.
Speaking after the match, Luis Enrique said the contract extension was significant for him because of the length of his stay at one club.
“It is not the best moment to talk about this but what I can say is that it is the first time in my career — and I am an old coach — in which I have stayed more than three years in the same club,” he said.
“I am more motivated now than I was in my first year here, which is bizarre for me. I am very happy and I hope to be up to the job.”
Champions League success
Luis Enrique was appointed PSG coach ahead of the 2023/24 season, with the major objective of delivering the club’s first European Cup.
He achieved that ambition in spectacular fashion when PSG defeated Inter Milan 5-0 in the 2025 Champions League final.
The French champions then successfully defended their European title in May, defeating Arsenal on penalties.
Under Luis Enrique, PSG have also won three Ligue 1 titles and two French Cups since he replaced Christophe Galtier.
Among the players who extended their contracts, Spain international Ruiz has signed a deal until the end of next season, with an option for an additional year.
Portugal midfielder Neves, Brazilian defender Beraldo, Ecuadorian centre-back Pacho and teenage midfielder Mayulu have all committed their futures to PSG until 2031.
The contract extensions underline PSG’s intention to maintain continuity and build on the success achieved under Luis Enrique.
