The enforcement action, carried out on Tuesday, January 21, was triggered by ongoing grievances over excessive noise levels, which LASEPA stated violated the state’s environmental noise regulations despite multiple warnings and engagements with the establishment’s management.

Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, General Manager of LASEPA, emphasized that the closure reflects the agency’s dedication to curbing noise pollution and ensuring public health and safety across Lagos.

He urged entertainment centers to comply with environmental standards to avoid similar sanctions.

“Noise pollution is a serious environmental concern that affects the quality of life and public health. The Lagos State Government has zero tolerance for activities that disrupt the peace and well-being of residents,” Ajayi remarked.

He further highlighted the health implications of noise pollution, noting that it contributes to stress, hearing loss, and sleep disorders.

Ajayi warned other establishments, including hospitality businesses, event centers, and nightlife venues, to adhere strictly to Lagos State’s noise regulations or face similar enforcement measures.

“This action serves as a warning to other establishments that disregard environmental laws,” he added
