    Lagos Police Invite Pastor Chris Okafor Over Alleged Rape, Sexual Offences

    Lagos State Police Command has invited Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, over allegations of multiple rape, sexual offences and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.

    An official statement signed by SP Abimbola Adebisi, Police Public Relations Officer, for the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, disclosed that the cleric was served an invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID on Monday, January 5, 2026, by 10 a.m.

    Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, directed a thorough, professional, transparent and unbiased investigation into the allegations, confirming that full security protection has been provided for alleged victims, whose identities and those of witnesses will remain strictly confidential.

    The command encouraged anyone with relevant complaints or credible information to come forward and assist the investigation, reiterating its commitment to maintaining law and order.

    It stressed that no individual is above the law, assuring that all allegations will be investigated according to due process, regardless of the status or position of those involved.
