Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN) is set to celebrate two decades of pioneering contributions to the nation’s digital ecosystem by honoring veteran technology journalist and founder of ITRealms Media Group, Remmy Nweke, with the Distinguished Contribution to Internet Journalism Award, RaveNewsOnline reports.

The high-profile recognition will take place during the landmark IXPN@20 Grand Gala Dinner, scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026, starting at 5:00 PM at the Landmark Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

In an official invitation letter signed by the Chief Executive Officer of IXPN, Muhammed Rudman, the organization commended Nweke for nearly three decades of dedicated reportage, informed analysis, and compelling storytelling that has helped chronicle and shape Nigeria’s internet revolution.

“The story of Nigeria’s Internet revolution could not have been told without the dedication of media professionals who documented its evolution,” Rudman stated in the letter.

“Through your insightful reporting, informed analysis, and compelling storytelling, you have deepened public understanding, shaped crucial industry discourse, and highlighted the importance of digital infrastructure in Nigeria.”

The anniversary gala will bring together key policy makers, telecommunications regulators, internet service providers, tech executives, and ecosystem pioneers to reflect on twenty years of local traffic peering and internet infrastructure growth in Nigeria.

The event highlights the critical intersection between independent technology journalism and the expansion of the digital economy, recognizing media leaders whose consistent advocacy has championed digital inclusion, robust peering frameworks, and national broadband development.
