Governors Working Hard to Ensure Stability in Nigeria, Says Gov. Ganduje

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State said on Saturday that the country’s governors have agreed to work hard to tackle insecurity and ensure peace and stability in Nigeria.

The governor made the disclosure while receiving members of the ‘Kwankwasiyya’ PDP who defected to the APC in Kano.

“All the governors have decided to work hard to ensure that the prevalence of insecurity is eradicated for complete peace and stability in Nigeria.

“We are pleased that the new heads of service are fully committed to promoting peace and stability in Nigeria.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to appreciate and congratulate Ohaneze Ndigbo for his commitment to one Nigeria.

“The Arewa Consultative Forum also believes in one Nigeria, we will continue to work with one Nigeria. I congratulate you on that.

“Afenifere, we appreciate you and congratulate you for publicly announcing that you believe in one Nigeria.

“The National Coalition of Middle Belt Peoples, we salute you for promising that you believe in one Nigeria.

“I would like to take your aspirations to the next level. I urge you to come together and hold an important meeting to consider the issues of diversity, to consider our differences, our similarities.

“Consider working on our diversity and challenges and turn them into opportunities for Nigeria’s development.

“Our diversity is a thing of God, it is the source of our strength, therefore we must convert it into unity, into opportunity and take Nigeria to the next level.

“If God wanted it, he could have created us all to be one tribe and in the same geographic location, but it was not God’s wish,” he said.

In his remarks, the acting national president of the APC, Governor Maimala Buni, who is also governor of Yobe, sent a message of goodwill to the governor.

Buni, who was represented by Alhaji Faruk Adamu-Aliyu, praised Ganduje for his good work in Kano State, which pushed the defectors to abandon the PDP for the APC.

He assured that the new members would be treated on an equal footing, like the other members of the CPA. (NAA)
