Fouani company boss, four others abducted in Lagos regain freedom

Lagos State Police command has confirmed that the abducted Managing Director of Fouani Company and three other brothers and boat captain have been rescued.

They were rescued Monday night at about 11 pm and have been reunited to their families.

Gunmen on Friday abducted MD of Fouani Company along with three Lebanese brothers who work for Fouani Nigeria Ltd while travelling by boat in Lagos on Friday.

Fouani Nigeria Ltd specialises in electronics and is the sole distributor of LG, Hisense and Maxi products in Nigeria.

The brothers – Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani and Amtal Fouani – were said to have been abducted around 6pm on Friday.

They were reportedly coming from their factory by boat when they were abducted under Folomo bridge.

They were rescued late last night in Orugbo Iddo.

According to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin,” yes ,they were rescued yesterday at about 11 pm.

Our Marine Police with the support of Nigerian Navy brought them to shore. Thereafter, our tactical team in the area took them home on Banana Island in the early hours of today. Five of them, three Lebanese, the boat captain and his assistant.

The kidnappers had contacted the families of the victims demanding of $1.5 million, but Hundeyin could not give details on how they were rescued and whether ransom was paid or not.
