    FirstBank Warns Customers Against Fake Message Claiming FirstMobile Was Compromised

    FirstBank has reassured customers that the FirstMobile application remains secure and fully operational, dismissing a voice message circulating on WhatsApp alleging that the platform had been compromised, reports Ravenewsonline.

    The bank, in an email sent to customers, described the circulating message as false and misleading, assuring users that their funds remain safe and secure.

    FirstBank said its digital banking platforms are protected by robust information security infrastructure and supported by continuous investment in technology and cybersecurity measures.

    “FirstMobile is secure and fully operational, supported by robust information security infrastructure,” the bank said.

    It added that it “continuously invests in world-class technology, cybersecurity protocols to ensure the highest standards of resilience, reliability, and security across all our digital channels.”

    The bank further assured customers and other stakeholders that “their funds remain safe and secure”, stressing that FirstMobile and all other FirstBank digital channels continue to operate securely.

    FirstBank urged customers to disregard the message and avoid spreading unverified information capable of causing unnecessary concern.

    “We urge our stakeholders to disregard the fraudulent message and refrain from sharing unverified information that may cause unnecessary concern, and to rely solely on FirstBank’s verified communication channels for accurate updates,” the bank said.
