The Federal Government, in partnership with Siemens Energy and the German development agency GIZ, has opened applications for a free Solar Photovoltaic Installation Training Programme for professionals, technicians and young Nigerians seeking careers in the renewable energy sector.

The programme is being implemented under the Siemens Energy Education and Development (SEED) project and supported by the Nigerian Energy Support Programme, a technical assistance initiative co-funded by the European Union and the German Government and implemented by GIZ.

According to a notice shared by FGN Power Company on its X handle on Wednesday, the three-week programme will combine classroom-based instruction with practical sessions, technical site visits and competency assessments.

Successful participants will also receive COREN certification upon completion.

Recent graduates with National Diploma, Higher National Diploma or undergraduate qualifications, young professionals in relevant fields and people interested in building careers in renewable energy are also encouraged to apply.

However, applicants must be available to participate in the training physically throughout the three-week programme.
