FG Nullifies Sale of FAAN Staff Quarters Nationwide

Aviation and Aerospace Development Minister, Festus Keyamo,

Aviation and Aerospace Development Minister, Festus Keyamo, announced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval via Federal Executive Council to exclude all FAAN properties within and around airport zones from private disposal.

Keyamo cited security risks in designating airport vicinities as non-residential areas unfit for families, stressing the need to house essential staff like fire officers and air traffic controllers.

The decision, tracing back to concerns since the Olusegun Obasanjo era, nullifies transactions including contentious claims in Kano, ensuring such assets remain under public control for operational purposes.
