    FG disburses ₦5.12bn pension arrears to 90,689 DBS pensioners

    Federal Government has paid ₦5.12 billion in outstanding pension arrears to 90,689 retirees under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS), managed by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).

    In a statement issued Monday, August 11 in Abuja, PTAD’s Head of Corporate Communications, Olugbenga Ajayi, confirmed that the disbursement had been completed, reaffirming the directorate’s commitment to pensioners’ welfare.

    Ajayi noted that the exercise aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, ensuring that pensioners receive their entitlements promptly.

    The payments were made across the four pension departments:

    Customs, Immigration & Prisons Pension Department (CIPPD) – ₦276.03 million for one month of arrears to 8,626 pensioners.

    Police Pension Department (PPD) – ₦619.58 million for two months of arrears to 9,681 pensioners.

    Civil Service Pension Department (CSPD) – ₦408.74 million for one month of arrears.

    Parastatals Pension Department (PAPD) – ₦3.81 billion for two months of arrears.
