Malami disclosed the invitation in a post on his Facebook page on Friday, though he did not reveal the reason or subject of the investigation.

He served as AGF and Minister of Justice from late 2015 to May 2023 under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, during which he exercised supervisory powers over the EFCC for eight years.

Now a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and governorship aspirant in Kebbi State, Malami pledged to honour the invitation and assured the public of transparency.

“This is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC. As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation,” he wrote.

Malami added that he would make a public disclosure of his encounter with the EFCC, stressing his commitment to accountability and transparency in public service.
