According to the EFCC, Udeke and another resident of apartment W6a attempted to evade arrest by jumping from the fourth floor of the building.
Udeke sustained fatal injuries and died despite medical efforts to save him, while the other individual survived after receiving treatment.
The Commission stated that it had contacted Udeke’s family to explain the circumstances leading to his death and that the family appreciated the efforts made to rescue him.
“The Commission is shocked at the suicidal action of the deceased. There was no contact between officers of the Commission and the deceased before the unfortunate incident,” the statement added.
