Fabian Nwaora, Chief Executive Officer of EFAB Properties Limited, failed to appear before an Abuja High Court last Monday for his scheduled arraignment on seven counts of forgery and identity fraud filed by the Inspector General of Police.
Defence counsel Ezekiel Egbo informed Justice Aliyu Shafa that Nwaora received the charge marked FHC/HC/CR/748/2025 around 3:00 p.m. the previous Friday, claiming insufficient preparation time, which stalled proceedings.
Prosecution counsel Eba Favour, standing in for Wisdom Madaki, requested a new arraignment date; the court adjourned to March 16 in the interest of justice.
Police accuse the prominent Abuja realtor of forging an international passport (A01646675) in the name Kenneth Chinedu Ogbogu, falsely dated April 5, 2024 from the Nigeria Immigration Service, and using it in official dealings.
Further counts allege Nwaora fabricated a certificate of incorporation for Keneco Investment Ltd (RC 619680) with a fake Registrar General A. Almustapha signature, a company letterhead, and a National Identity Number from NIMC—violations of Penal Code Sections 362, 364, and 366.
The charges cast a shadow over EFAB’s elite real estate image amid past environmental sanctions and regulatory disputes in Abuja’s luxury property market.
Corporate governance experts see the case exposing opaque practices in Nigeria’s aggressive property sector expansion.
All eyes now turn to March 16 for Nwaora’s formal arraignment.
