Nigeria’s men’s national basketball team, the D’Tigers, has qualified for the quarterfinals of AfroBasket 2025.
Nigeria closed out their Group D campaign of the 2025 AfroBasket on a high and impressive note with a gripping 99–90 victory over archrivals Cameroon on Sunday, August 17, at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Luanda, Angola.
The win over Cameroon means they finish with a 3-0 record.
Nigeria started the campaign with a 77-59 defeat of Madagascar and an 87-66 victory over defending champions, Tunisia, before yesterday’s masterclass against Cameroon.
D’Tigers are guaranteed two rest days to allow Cameroon and others to battle for quarterfinals tickets in the play-offs, but they will return to action on Wednesday when the last eight battles begin.
