Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has instituted a N1 billion lawsuit against popular clergyman Pastor Chris Okafor at a high court, accusing him of emotional distress, reputational damage and breach of trust stemming from an alleged broken marriage promise.

The suit, filed amid a highly publicised dispute, claims the actress endured a long-term relationship since 2017, during which she made significant personal sacrifices, including leaving her marriage at the pastor’s urging, only to be abandoned when he wed another woman recently.
Ogala, in prior social media outbursts and interviews, alleged the pastor shared private videos, including one of her miscarriage misrepresented as an abortion, exacerbating her mental health struggles following her brother’s death; she denies blackmail and seeks damages, public apology and legal redress.
The case marks a legal pivot from online exchanges where Ogala vowed to disrupt Okafor’s wedding at his Grace Nation church (Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry), drawing divided public reactions amid his recent marriage to Pearl.
Court documents remain partially private, with no hearing date fixed as of Friday; Pastor Okafor and his new wife have not issued formal responses, though social media shows them celebrating amid the controversy.
Ogala detailed financial support for the pastor’s projects without repayment and psychological harm, insisting the suit upholds justice rather than vengeance in their years-long alleged romance
