The top Premier League match from Round 10 is the London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 29 November, a clash which sees Jose Mourinho come up against one of his greatest former on-field generals, Frank Lampard.
‘The Special One’ has already stoked the flames of rivalry by claiming earlier this month that Chelsea – along with other heavyweight clubs – have been earning ‘soft’ penalties, while his Spurs team have been getting along just fine without such an advantage.
Lampard has laughed off these claims: “I think it’s very normal that managers in and around the clubs challenging sometimes mention others with those statements. It didn’t affect me.”
He added: “I’m not going to tell Jose or any other manager how to do a press conference. I think we all know when we watch these penalty decisions, we know what ones are penalties, what ones are dives, ones that are cleverly bought. I don’t want to dwell on it.”
Tottenham knocked Chelsea out of the League Cup earlier this season and will be hungry to claim a first Premier League win over the Blues in more than two years.
Elsewhere, another intriguing clash sees high-flying Southampton host Manchester United, with the Red Devils hoping that their excellent away form sees them through against a Saints side which has been mightily impressive so far this season.
The weekend opens with Wilfried Zaha’s Crystal Palace chasing a home win over Newcastle United on Friday night, Saturday features champions Liverpool travelling to the South Coast to face Brighton & Hove Albion, and Monday features a ‘claret and blue’ derby as the similarly clad West Ham United and Aston Villa meet at the London Stadium.
No rival can compete with SuperSport’s coverage. Our viewers on DStv and GOtv can see all their favourite stars from the African continent dominating Premier League pitches across England.
