    Digital Encode to Train ICT Journalists on Blockchain Technology

    With the evolving trends in digital currency and technology, journalists under the aegis of the Nigeria Information Technology Reporters Association (NITRA) will receive one-day Capacity Boosting training on Blockchain Technology.

    The training, to be facilitated by frontline Cybersecurity and Consultancy firm, Digital Encode in Lagos, will cover areas that include Digital Currency, Blockchain technology, Cybersecurity and will further engage the participating journalists with practical engagements on Blockchain trading.

    Announcing the training, Mr. Chike Onwuegbuchi, Chairman of NITRA, noted that aside impacting knowledge of subject matters that the journalists report daily, the training will also afford members opportunity of acquiring requisite skills that will help them in building a legitimate secondary source of income.

    The facilitators will include, Dr. Oluseyi Akindeinde, co-founder and Chief Technical Officer at Digital Encode. Dr. Akindeinde has over 18-years’ experience working in the IT and Information Security (IS) sector.

    He has in the past few years been exploring the security issues faced by Electronic Fund Transfer (ETF) and Financial Transaction Systems (FTS), and has presented papers at Financial technology (Fintech) and financial regulatory forums.

    Also, billed to facilitate a session during the training is, Dr. Obadare Peter Adewale, co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer at Digital Encode.

    Arguably the most credentialed Pan-African cybersecurity expert and Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS), Dr. Obadare, the first PECB-Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) in Nigeria, is a seasoned cybersecurity influencer with over 50 international professional certifications, and will take journalists on the subject of Data Privacy, Data Protection, Information Security, Vulnerability Management and Cybersecurity.

    According to Dr. Akindeinde, there is so much to tap into in Blockchain, journalists can secure their financial future by tapping into the opportunities inherent in Blockchain.

    It is expected that after the training, participating journalists will further boost their wealth of knowledge in sectorial technologies and have informed reportorial skills in these sectors.

    The Nigeria Information Technology Reporters Association (NITRA) is the umbrella body of ICT reporters in Nigeria.

    The Association was formed to cater for the welfare of its members and advocate for the growth of ICT in Nigeria.
