A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted N200 million bail each to former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and his son, Abdulaziz, over charges linked to alleged terrorism and illegal possession of firearms.

The ruling was delivered on Thursday by Joyce Abdulmalik.
Although the court approved their bail, the judge ordered that both men be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions.
The court directed that each defendant must provide two sureties. One of the sureties must own landed property in Maitama or Asokoro, Abuja.
The property title documents are to be deposited with the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court. The sureties are also required to swear to an affidavit of means and submit two recent passport photographs.
Malami and his son were further ordered to deposit their international passports and recent passport photographs with the court.
The judge fixed March 4 for the commencement of trial.
The Department of State Services had earlier arraigned the former AGF and his son on a five-count charge bordering on alleged terrorism and illegal firearms possession.
According to the charge, Malami was accused of failing to prosecute suspected terrorism financiers while serving as Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
Both he and his son were also accused of keeping firearms and ammunition at their residence in Gesse Phase II Area of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area in Kebbi State without lawful authority.
The charges include alleged unlawful possession of a Sturm Magnum firearm, 16 live rounds of Redstar AAA cartridges and 27 expended cartridges, contrary to provisions of the Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Act 2022 and the Firearms Act 2004.
The trial is scheduled to begin on March 4.
