Confirm the HIV status of your side chics – NSCDC warns men

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

Mohammed Bello Mu’azu, Gombe State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has warned men to confirm the HIV status of their side girlfriends, commonly referred to as ‘side chics’.

Mu’azu gave the warning while disclosing the arrest of an 85-year-old man, who was said to have lured an uncountable number of young girls into sex and after medical examination, he and his four wives were confirmed to be HIV positive.

Leadership reports that Mu’azu warned members of the public against illicit sexual relationships or ensure they confirm the status of their sex mates before engaging in any sexual relationship.

He said HIV is like a time bomb in Gombe State because the prevalence rate was alarmingly high, noting that many unsuspecting carriers are in their window period, hence he warned men to watch out and confirm the HIV status of their ‘Side Chicks’.

He further revealed that the Command faced serious challenges with some non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that support same-sex relationships and marriage, a situation prevalent in the State.

Recall that 76 people were arrested and accused of having a “gay party” in Gombe State last year.
