Clubhouse – the social audio app – has launched Music Mode and updated Universal Search to make Clubhouse’s experience even better when it comes to sound quality and search.
Music Mode is a new setting that helps creators sound their best when performing on Clubhouse.
Whether it’s workshopping a new song, playing the piano, or hosting a jam session with friends, Music Mode optimizes Clubhouse to broadcast music with high quality and great stereo sound.
Creators will also be able to use professional audio equipment for their performance, like external USB microphones or mixing boards.
To enable Music Mode when speaking in a room, tap the three dots and select “Audio Quality” from the menu. Then choose the “Music” option to start a jam session.
For listeners, there’s no need to hop on stage for better audio quality. They will also be able to hear stereo audio whether they use headphones, a speaker, or a phone.
Stereo support has also been added to Clips, so any snippets that are shared from performers using Music Mode will also have the same high quality.
As was the case with spatial audio, Music Mode will roll out on iOS first with Android as a fast follow.
Updates to Search
Through community feedback about Universal Search, Clubhouse is making it even easier for listeners to find creators, clubs and rooms. In addition to some under the hood improvements, the search bar is moving to the top of the hallway for easy access. Listeners will also be able to wave at their friends directly from Search on iOS (and this will be coming to Android soon).
