The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed that Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, former media aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state is in its custody.
This comes hours after the agency initially denied that he was in their custody. Read here.
Peter Afunanya, DSS spokesman, in a statement released on Saturday evening, disclosed that Salihu is currently in their custody.
“This is to confirm that Salihu Tanko-Yakasai is with the Department of State Services.
“He is being investigated over issues beyond the expression of opinions in the social media as wrongly alleged by sections of the public” his statement read
Salihu was arrested hours after he called for the Buhari-led government to resign if they cannot curtail the alarming rate of insecurity in the country.
