Brand Communicator, One of Nigeria’s leading brands and marketing publications, has named Enitan Kehinde, General Manager and Lead Consultant of BHM UK, as Emerging PR Professional Of The Year 2021.
This was announced at the fifth edition of the Women in Marketing & Communications Conference/Awards (WIMCA) held in Lagos, on Wednesday October 27, 2021.
According to Joshua Ajayi, Convener of WIMCA and Publisher of Brand Communicator, the award is in recognition of the outstanding and impactful work executed in the past year despite the economic challenges in the country caused by COVID-19 and other factors.
In his words, ‘‘winners like Enitan, are amazons who deserve to be honoured and celebrated for their contribution to the growth of their respective industries and we believe their stories will inspire others to aspire to be the best they can be.”
Other winners included Nnenna Onyewuchi, Co-Founder and Director of Strategy, Yellow Brick Road; Jumoke Akinyele, Deputy Business Director, Noah’s Ark Communications Limited and Tolulope Medebem, COO and Lead Consultant, Aster Integrated Marketing Limited to name a few.
Now in its fifth year, The WIMCA Awards provides a platform for marketing and communications discourse and empowerment for women in Nigeria and across Africa.
Speaking on the award, Enitan said, “It is an honor to be recognised alongside these intelligent and industrious women. I am positive that wins like this will inspire not just us but every young woman looking to build a career in marketing communications and elsewhere.“
Enitan Kehinde who leads the recently launched UK arm of PR and communications consultancy, BlackHouse Media (BHM), is a member of the CIPR and PRCA and a skilled marketing communications professional with about six years experience, working in the PR industry.
Enitan holds a masters degree in public relations from Sheffield Hallam University and an undergraduate degree in Mass Communication from the Redeemer’s University.
Enitan has also co-authored the BHM Guide to Public Relations, a 138 page interactive digital book containing tips, tools and tricks for everyone interested in Smart PR.
In addition, she has coordinated Africa’s first-ever annual report on Public Relations, Nigeria PR Report for four years and led the team that created The Concept of Virality 2020, a research report that seeks to explore the concept of virality according to data and online patterns.
Enitan joined BHM in January of 2016 as an intern and worked her way up to become a Lead Consultant.
She worked as Lead Consultant on the FMCG portfolio at BHM for over three years, driving the Coca-Cola and Nigerian Breweries accounts and leading a team of 10 consultants across corporate communications, and brand PR before moving to London to lead BHM UK.
