BBNaija S11: Aikou, Flora Exit Gambit Status, Become Eligible for ₦160m Prize

Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemates Aikou and Flora have been released from their Gambit status and are now eligible to compete for the ₦160 million grand prize.

The development was announced on Monday following Sunday’s “Operation Release the Gambit” twist, which gave viewers the opportunity to decide whether one or both housemates should be reinstated as regular contestants.

The organisers confirmed that both housemates had been released from Gambit mode and restored to full housemate status.

“Flora and Aikou are officially out of Gambit mode. Biggie has reinstated them as full #BBNaija housemates, making them eligible to compete for the prize money,” the organisers announced.

However, the two housemates are now also subject to the normal eviction process. The organisers noted that if either Aikou or Flora is nominated for eviction, their fate will be determined by the voting public.

Aikou and Flora became the first Gambits of the season after viewers voted them into the special positions.

Flora emerged as the female Gambit after securing 29.38 per cent of the votes, while Aikou claimed the male Gambit position with 9.10 per cent.

Their Gambit status guaranteed them a place in the house until the grand finale but prevented them from competing for the ₦160 million grand prize.

During Sunday’s live show, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu introduced the “Operation Release the Gambit” twist, handing the decision to viewers.

“Big Brother has one more twist for you tonight. Operation Release the Gambit begins immediately after the live show. The polls will open, and you will decide whether to release one or both of the Gambits, giving them the opportunity to play for the prize. The power is in your hands,” Ebuka announced.

Following the conclusion of the voting process, Big Brother confirmed that both Aikou and Flora had been released from their Gambit roles.

They will now compete alongside the other housemates for the remainder of the season, with their eligibility for the ₦160 million prize restored.

However, their new status also means they can be nominated for eviction, making their journey to the finale dependent on both their performance in the house and the support of viewers.
