AVEVA, global industrial software giant, has announced significant progress in its sustainability efforts, with major gains in emission reductions and product assessments.
The company revealed this in its fifth annual Sustainability Report released on Tuesday, showcasing how its technology is helping address global environmental challenges through greener innovation and efficient industrial operations.
AVEVA said it had sustained a 93 per cent reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions in 2024, driven by a pivot to renewable energy, efficient office space usage, and streamlined fleet operations.
According to the company, its biggest opportunity to impact the climate lies in the hands of its users—and it is doubling down on software designed to empower those users.
In line with its green roadmap, AVEVA confirmed that all its products have undergone design maturity assessments using the Green Software Foundation’s framework. It has also measured energy consumption benchmarks for 85 per cent of its portfolio through rigorous power testing. This, the company said, would guide future innovations aligned with energy-efficient digital transformation.
AVEVA is also making its mark through customers. For the first time, the firm published a figure for “saved and avoided emissions,” capturing energy reductions achieved by clients using selected products.
Chief Executive Officer, Caspar Herzberg, described the milestone as proof that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand. “Our software gives industry players the tools to optimise efficiency, slash emissions, and cut resource costs,” he said.
Chief Sustainability Officer, Lisa Wee, noted that while the results were encouraging, the work was far from over. “Our software handprint—how we help others decarbonise—is our greatest lever,” she said. “We’re expanding how we measure and report these gains to reflect our broader impact.”
AVEVA reaffirmed its commitment to deepening its sustainability footprint as it enters the final year of its 2025 targets.
