Atiku Abubakar Joins ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the coalition-backed party he is expected to align with ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atiku announced his membership on Monday, Nov. 24, sharing a photo of himself holding his ADC membership card with the caption, “It’s official.”

His move comes months after his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July.

Political observers believe Atiku will seek the presidential ticket of ADC in 2027, positioning the party as a major contender in the forthcoming polls.

The ADC has yet to issue a formal statement on Atiku’s entry, but his decision is already generating reactions across Nigeria’s political landscape.
